Is fruit put into a powerful blender to make a smoothie good for diabetics?

I’ve heard fruit juice is not good because it gives too strong a sugar hit too quickly but that fruit is ok because of the fibre. If a whole fruit is put into a blender it is mulched up but the fibre is still there. Please tell me if such a practice is considered as good as eating raw fruit whole from a diabetes point of view.

I have borderline diabetes so don’t know much about it as yet.
