About 47 million Americans have some form of metabolic syndromea group of conditions that increase the risk of diabetes, heart disease, and related complications. What are the health benefits of being vegetarian or vegan?

Lydia asked:

I know there are lots of reasons to cut meat out of your diet. The one I personally find the most reasonable is for your health. I have met several people who have become vegetarian or vegan for “health reasons”.

So I’m wondering, what are these health benefits? Is meat not healthy? Why does cutting meat from your diet make you a healthier person?

I am working on a research project for a job applications program with my school and I need to know if and what the health benefits of a career in fashion merchandising are.

Also, I know it sounds ridiculous, but if there are any health and safety issues involved in this occupation. Please, please help me!

How can I rehabilitate a fruit tree (to make the fruit good again)?

Posted by admin | Garden & Landscape | Monday 29 June 2009 6:06 am
Roberta K asked:

I just moved into a house that has lovely peach, plum, and pear trees planted on the lot. There is no doubt from my initial examination that the fruits have become crabby and aren’t any good for eating this season. They are on the small side and likely to be sour.

What can I start doing now to rehabilitate these trees so that the fruit will eventually (next season, or multiple seasons from now if needed) return to being large and good enough to eat? Is there special fertilizer for fruit trees that is generally available? Any other tricks to know?

Any idea how long (how many seasons) rehabilitating a “wild” fruit tree might take?

Thanks!
